R6 27.5.12 - Vs Kellyville

Great game Blues- well played.
The skills of the game are hard to learn at training and then bring to the game but today against  Kellyville the team did just that .
Colby's first touches were skillful in and around the rucks, very helpful to the success of the team early on in the game. Well done Colby.
Rowan played his usual greatness in speed and reading the play and a few goals came his way.
Sohail put in a strong performance and when he started winning the ball from in front was well rewarded by the umpires . Well done Sohail.
Ralph  - great work / skills in the forward line again and again. Each week you show skills of a player with a few years under his belt not just half a year.
Rhys's marking, leading  and delivery of the football was outstanding as usual today. This is why you are a key player in this side week in and week out, well played Rhys.
Max I don't think I've seen him kick so many goals in a game and hustle so hard! Wow! Well done Max.
Jordan I must be getting boring to you I say the same thing each week about you .Your hands are first to the footy although each week there's something different. You are getting more and more kicks each week,I'm looking forward to see what you show us next week.
Finally onto  Ben and James. What a delight for a coach to have these two boys play for us today.
The lads showed they had the skills to not only match it but to  win plenty of footy in the under tens  - which is great considering the boys are under 9s that have played up to help with our numbers.
Congratulations buys - Great to have you and well done! Theres a spot in our team whenever you boys want .

R4 6.5.12 vs Pennat Hills

  • Hits: 554

Well what a game. Oliver said it was the hardest so far.

1st Qtr

Penno came out of the gates flying with three unanswered goals. With a depleted side 9 v 14 the Eagles dug deep and worked hard on the game plan of leading and marking up. The midfield of Oliver, Ralph, and Matt steadied the Pennant Hill rampage with good hustle and clean delivery to the forwards . A great mark and goal by Sohail and Max.

2nd Qtr

Was even with Pennant Hills. Highlights -  A long bomb by Matt from near middle field that bounced through. A great text book mark and goal from Ralph set up by some clean clearances out of the middle by Rhys, Colby,  and Jordian. You could see our goals were starting to come easier. The Eagles were building.

3rd Qtr

The Eagles came out and dominated the qtr. Max won some heavily contested footy, Sohail and Jordian pushed the ball forward where Rowan, Rhys and Colby shone.

4th Qtr

Took a turn for the worse,Penno came back with three Straight goals then our whole midfield got injured simultaneously. Ralph and Oliver were elbowed in the head accidentally and Matty had a massive knock to the knee. It wasn't the ending we expected. Even the Pennant Hills coach said that was a real scare from a depleted side.

Brilliant effort team. The rematch at Rolf park should be Interesting to say the least. Well done.

Round 1- U10 Blues v Goannas was a roadtrip to Gipps Rd Greystanes against the Holroyd Parramatta Goannas.

It was a hot day, a tough game, and all the players stood up and played really well, with player of the match Rhys leading the way.

The game was evenly matched with The Eagles scoring two goals each quarter and in the last quarter 3 goals. The boys led and marked consistently in a fast flowing game.

Rowan's hustle and speed in playing on was fantastic.Colby and Jordan took some great marks. Oliver and Rhys never stopped running.

Max and Sohail were consistently solid whenever they defended . Ralph the new comer to the game showed he has a good football brain and skills to match.

Last but definitely not least the little fellow with the big ticker that came up from the under 9s, Max hassled and gained possession until he wore himself out.

A special thanks to Nicholas from the Reds for making the journey to Greystanes .

A fantastic team effort, and I couldn't be prouder.
