What is AFL Auskick?
"AFL Auskick is where champions begin"
The AFL Auskick Program and the AFL Auskick Rules have been developed to build the foundation skills for playing Australian football and to respond to the needs of children aged from five years old.
AFL Auskick Policy is for the AFL game for primary school aged children to:
- Be fun & safe.
- Designed specifically to maximise participation, skill learning and development.
- Based on rules and procedures appropriate to the children involved.
- Involve appropriately accredited coaches.
Who can be involved?
AFL Auskick is for fun and safe for girls and boys, and provides a stress free, fun environment for parents. AFL introduction courses are available to support new parents to the game of AFL, and to assist in maximising their involvement and enjoyment.
What does Auskick involve?
A typical Auskick morning will run for 1 hour and would usually consist of warm-up exercises, skills development, games that will introduce new participants to the rules and skills of AFL, and AFL Matches (with modified rules) where children can develop their skills and fitness in a safe, controlled and fun environment
